MEMS International designs and builds custom and modular exhibition stands from Exhibition House on Cox Lane in Chessington, Surrey, which it puts at 35 minutes from central London. It has worked in exhibitions since 1987 and says it has delivered stands in more than 160 cities. It appears in our stand design and build section and among suppliers for London.

Custom stands made in its own Surrey workshop

Your stand is manufactured in the company’s own workshop in Chessington, and the graphics are produced in-house so they fit the build. Its custom stand page sets out six stages: brief and discovery, concept design with 3D visuals, development and approval, build and production, delivery and installation, then show support and breakdown. It gives a typical timescale of 6 to 12 weeks from concept to delivery, so start well ahead of your show. It also says many custom elements can be reused or adapted for later exhibitions.

Octanorm stands to buy, hire or rework

If you would rather have a system stand, MEMS is an official Octanorm partner through the OSPI programme, which it describes as a select group of UK builders certified to design, build and supply Octanorm stands. You can buy a new Octanorm stand, hire one for a single show, or have an existing stand reconfigured and refurbished, including one that another contractor built. It says it has built Octanorm stands at shows including Event Tech Live, IMEX and MRO.

Stands for shows in the UK and overseas

You can use the same team for UK and international dates. Its services include worldwide transport with customs clearance, crews to install and dismantle, and storage between shows at its secure Surrey facility, where stands are inspected and prepared before each event. Its portfolio runs from Pacvac at The Cleaning Show and CCC Underwater Engineering at Oceanology, both at Excel London, and Open GI at the BIBA conference at Manchester Central, to Bechtel at Gastech in Houston, Singapore and Milan and Macquarie at E-world in Essen. Earlier UK projects include Adande at HRC and Tenaris at Offshore Europe. For organisers it designs floor features such as VIP lounges, seminar theatres and hospitality zones.
