With GH Display you deal with one family-run team for design, print, manufacturing, installation, storage and project management, all handled by its own staff. GH Display works from a two-acre site in Cambridgeshire, near Peterborough, and its home page dates the business to 1976. It appears in our stand design and build and displays and graphics sections and among suppliers listed for Peterborough.

A custom stand you can reuse for years

You get a bespoke stand that the company states can be reused for up to ten years and reconfigured for different stand sizes. It says most of its bespoke stands are made largely from its own hire components, refurbished before each show, with new branded features added. Panels are designed so damaged parts can be repaired cheaply. You can hire a stand, buy it outright or take a hybrid of the two. Between shows it offers storage with condition checks, cleaning, repairs and refurbishment.

A clear six-stage project from brief to return

You know what happens at each of the six stages set out on its design page: consultation and brief, concept visuals, revisions, technical drawings with 3D visuals, build and installation, then post-event return of your literature and graphics. Both 3D and 2D designers work in-house. For installation it prepares RAMS, deals with the venue, books timed deliveries and offers out-of-hours fit-outs. Shows abroad are covered too, including freight forwarding and carnet and customs paperwork. If you are preparing a brief for a stand builder, expect the first stage to cover your brand, objectives, audience and budget.

Experience at your venue and show

You can check whether GH Display already works at your venue or show. It names the NEC Birmingham, Excel London, Business Design Centre, Olympia, Coventry Building Society Arena, ICC Birmingham, Manchester Central and ACC Liverpool among the venues it works in. It describes itself as a preferred stand supplier at Spring Fair, Autumn Fair, Bett, SCS Formulate, Learning Technologies, the Schools and Academies Show, the Health and Safety Event and the Labour and Conservative party conferences. If you have chosen shell scheme over space only for Spring Fair, it can also upgrade your stand with wall graphics, fascia branding, counters, literature and tablet stands and hire furniture. Its published portfolio includes projects for Siemens, Learning Pool, TriMech Group and Peterborough United.

Portable displays you can buy

You can buy portable stands from its shop, including tension fabric stands on a 32mm aluminium tube frame in three standard heights (2260mm, 2447mm and 2951mm), plus self-assembly cardboard stand kits in 2.4m or 3m heights, listed from £695 to £3,550 excluding VAT.

Lower-impact stands with recognised accreditations

You get a carbon calculation for every custom stand, and the company states it holds ESSA Tier 5 sustainability certification and the FESPA Waste Management Accreditation. According to the company, its 30,000 sq ft workshop runs on power from 200 roof solar panels and its vans use HVO fuel instead of diesel. It uses Fibrapan Bio board in place of MDF, aluminium with 70% recycled content and mainly water-based paints, and recycles event carpet through a take-back scheme with its flooring supplier. Graphics can be printed on recycled media or made with silicone edging for reuse.

Other stand design and build suppliers listed here include XL Displays, Access Displays and Nimlok.
