Excel London gives you 87,328 sq m of column-free Event Halls and the ICC London convention centre on the Royal Victoria Dock in east London. Your visitors can arrive by Elizabeth line or DLR. The exhibition and conference centre opened in November 2000 on a dock that Prince Albert opened in 1855 and that closed to commercial traffic in 1981. ICC London opened in 2010, and in 2021 the venue gained approval for a 25,000 sq m expansion. Excel London acquired the Business Design Centre in 2024. It sits among the trade shows held across London, alongside venues such as Olympia London.
Event Halls and ICC London sized to your show
You can book the floor you need, as the North and South Event Halls are built from 2,000 sq m modules separated by moveable floor-to-ceiling walls. Ceilings are 10m high and the halls can hold 68,750 visitors at any one time. For larger events you can join the halls with the ICC Capital Hall, the ICC Auditorium and the ICC Maritime Halls.

Build-up, loading and services for exhibitors
You can drive into the halls and connect to permanent under-floor services.
- Doorways into the halls are 7.2m wide for drive-in access, a three-lane lorry way serves build-up and breakdown, and the marshalling area takes 300 vehicles.
- Floor loading is 18 kN per sq m. Under-floor ducts carry permanent IT, electric, water, waste, compressed air and gas connections.
- Every vehicle using the loading bays must be pre-booked on the Excel London Vehicle Booking System, run on Voyage Control. Our guide to planning stand delivery and installation covers the timing side.
- Excel’s own team supplies internet, rigging, cleaning and piped services. An Exhibitor Services team answers by email, phone or live chat and staffs a desk at the front of the hall on build days.
- Appointed venue partners provide specialist services. Eclipse provides conference and event AV from on-site offices, and Excel says it is the only AV provider offered extended and out-of-hours access. Aztec Event Services is the exhibition AV partner.
- Excel London Hospitality is the sole supplier of stand catering. Third-party catering is not allowed, and food or drink brought in without approval is thrown away.
- Filming or photography on site needs a permit. Sound-reduced rooms, florists and executive cars can also be booked.
Getting there by rail, cable car, air or car
You arrive by rail at either end of the building. Custom House station, on the Elizabeth line and DLR, is about 200m from the West Entrance. Prince Regent DLR station is about 200m from the East Entrance, and the walk between the two stations through the building is roughly 1km. From the Jubilee line, change to the DLR at Canning Town. The cable car has linked Excel with The O2 since 2012, and London City Airport is less than a mile away. Drivers should use postcode E16 1FR for the car park.

You can stay at Aloft London Excel, opened in 2011 with 252 bedrooms, or the DoubleTree by Hilton London Excel, which ADNEC bought in 2021.
